How Spwnd handles personal information
Last updated March 13, 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how Spwnd collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you visit spwnd.dev, contact us, or use associated apps and services that link to this policy, including apps that support Google sign-in or other account-authentication methods.
1. Scope
This policy applies to the Spwnd website, related product pages, support channels, and associated apps that link to it. It does not govern third-party services we rely on, such as app stores, Google, infrastructure vendors, or payment processors, except to describe how those services help us operate Spwnd services.
2. Information we collect
- Account and identity data: your name, email address, profile image, authentication identifiers, and sign-in method when you register, contact us, or authenticate into an associated app through Google, email, password, or verification codes.
- Website and communication data: information you submit through email, support requests, waitlists, or other communications with Spwnd.
- App content: data you create or upload in associated apps, which may include shared records, participant details, uploaded files or images, notes, preferences, and activity history.
- Information about other people: names, optional email addresses, and other details you add about other people while using a Spwnd service. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to share that information with us.
- Device and usage data: platform type, push notification tokens, IP address or approximate location inferred from network activity, service logs, and diagnostic records needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot our services.
- Purchase data: subscription entitlement and status information we receive from app-store billing flows, payment processors, or subscription providers. We do not receive your full payment card number unless a specific checkout flow explicitly says otherwise.
- Support and communications: messages, screenshots, bug reports, and attachments you send to us.
3. How we use information
- Provide the website and associated apps, including account creation, sign-in, authentication, syncing, collaboration, notifications, and service support.
- Process uploaded content, including files and images, to deliver product features that depend on that content.
- Enable premium features, verify subscription status, and prevent fraud or abuse.
- Send transactional or service messages, including account, security, and product-related notifications.
- Maintain security, enforce our Terms of Service, debug issues, and improve reliability.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, safety, and security of Spwnd, our users, and others.
4. Authentication and Google sign-in
Some associated apps allow you to sign in with Google or other supported providers. When you do, we receive account information such as your name, email address, profile image, authentication identifiers, and sign-in metadata needed to create and maintain your account. Google and other providers also process data under their own terms and privacy notices.
5. Legal bases for processing
Where applicable, we process personal information on one or more of these bases: to perform our contract with you and provide Spwnd services; with your consent, such as for camera, photo-library, or push-notification permissions in an associated app; for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving our services; and to comply with legal obligations.
6. How we share information
- Service providers: infrastructure, authentication, email delivery, subscription management, push delivery, hosting, analytics, and AI-processing vendors that help us run Spwnd services, such as Convex, Better Auth, Google, Resend, RevenueCat, Expo, and other supporting providers.
- Other users of the same service: some app content may be visible to the users involved in that shared record or workflow so the service can function.
- Legal or safety disclosures: when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect rights, property, or safety.
- Business transfers: if Spwnd or related assets are involved in a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
7. Device storage and local data
Associated apps may store some information locally on your device to keep the service working, such as session data, cached queries, queued changes, drafts, or the last registered push token. Local data remains on your device until it is cleared by the app, overwritten, or removed when you uninstall or reset the app.
8. Retention
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Spwnd services, maintain account records, honor subscriptions, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal requirements. Specific retention periods vary by service and data type. Backups may persist for a limited period after deletion.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International transfers
Spwnd and its service providers may process personal information in the United States and other countries that may have different data-protection laws than your home jurisdiction.
11. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information, and to object to or limit certain processing. California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, and delete personal information and to receive equal service without discrimination for exercising those rights. EEA, UK, and similar-jurisdiction users may also have rights to withdraw consent and lodge complaints with a supervisory authority.
To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Authorized agents may also contact us with proof of authority where required by law.
12. Children
Spwnd services are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from them for use of the service. If you believe a minor has provided personal information to us in violation of this policy, contact us and we will investigate and delete it where appropriate.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the last-updated date above. Material changes may also be communicated in-app or by email when appropriate.
14. Associated apps
Spwnd may operate multiple associated apps that link back to this policy. Product-specific data practices may differ based on the features you use. The current public app page is ChopChop.
